Nan Sanseverino

Nan Sanseverino is the current Deputy Secretary for Communications and Public Affairs at the North Carolina Department of Commerce. Nan has held this position since October 2015. Prior to their current role, Nan served as the Communications Manager for Public Affairs and Office of Federal Affairs at UNC Chapel Hill from August 2012 to October 2015. From February 2010 to August 2012, they were the Public Communications Specialist for UNC Federal Affairs. And from July 2006 to February 2010, they were the Assistant to the Director for UNC Federal Affairs.

Nan's professional journey began in 1990 when they became the Commercial Leasing and Marketing Manager for Fifth Floor Associates. Nan then held positions as Sales and Marketing Associate for Royal Enterprises (1996-1998), Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for CVS Health (1998-1999), Marketing Specialist for Runan Productions (1999-2001), Internal Communications and Special Projects for NC Department of Administration (2001-2006), and finally Communications Manager for Public Affairs and Office of Federal Affairs at UNC Chapel Hill (2012-2015). In October 2015, they assumed their role as Deputy Secretary for Communications and Public Affairs at the North Carolina Department of Commerce, where they remain today.

Nan Sanseverino works with Chet Mottershead - Assistant Secretary, Workforce, Annie Izod - Executive Director, NCWorks Commission, and Meihui Bodane - Assistant Secretary, Policy, Research & Strategy. Nan Sanseverino reports to Roy Cooper, Governor.
