John Dittmar

John Dittmar, MPA is currently the Director of Safety and Security at NC State Ports Authority since April 2017. Prior to this role, John served as a Military Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard for over two decades, with notable positions such as Chief of the Prevention Department in Coast Guard Sector North Carolina. John's extensive experience includes roles such as Executive Officer at the Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit in Pittsburgh, Chief of the Inspections Division in Coast Guard Sector Baltimore, and Homeland Security Planner in the 13th Coast Guard District in Seattle. John holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from the US Coast Guard Academy.
