North Cascades Institute
We inspire and empower environmental stewardship for all through transformative experiences in nature. Since 1986, we have helped connect people, nature and community through the hands-on study of the natural and cultural history of the Pacific Northwest. Our goal is to help people of all ages experience mountains, rivers, forests and wildlife so all will care for and protect this special place. Join us at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center on Diablo Lake in the heart of North Cascades National Park for hands-on learning adventures with the Pacific Northwest’s best naturalists, artists, scientists and writers. In addition to world-class educational opportunities on topics ranging from birds to watercolors to mushrooms to photography, programs at the Learning Center offer guests comfortable accommodations, delicious meals made from local, organic ingredients in the lakeside dining hall and naturalist-led activities in the Diablo Lake neighborhood. Check out our current outdoor programs in the North Cascades – including Family Getaways, Base Camp Learning & Lodging and Diablo Lake and Lunch Boat Tours -- at ncascades.org/get_outside.
