Darren Gilbert has a diverse work experience in the field of civil engineering and construction. Darren started their career at MONK CONSTRUCTION LTD as a construction trainee from October 1990 to October 1992. Darren then worked as a technical trainee at Trafalgar House Construction from October 1992 to August 1994. In 1998, they joined Telford & Wrekin Council as a civil engineer and remained there until April 2011. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Highway Technical Services at North Somerset Council.

Darren Gilbert's education history is as follows:

From 1994 to 1997, they attended the University of Nottingham and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Civil Engineering.

In 2016 and 2017, they attended the Institute of Asset Management and earned a certificate in Asset Management.
