Susan Woollard

Chief Nursing Executive & VP, Clinical Services, Quality & Long Term Care at North York General Hospital

Susan began her career at North York General Hospital in 1980 as a staff nurse. Since that time she has progressed into numerous leadership positions, including Unit Administrator and Program Director in Emergency Services, Director of Professional Practice, Research and Education and most recently, Program Director of Medicine, Critical Care and Elder Care.

Susan is a life-long learner, teacher and mentor. She received a Bachelor of Health Studies degree from York University and a Master's in Education from Central Michigan University with a focus on adult learners. She has completed courses in health and elder law, infection control and clinical risk. Susan holds an Adjunct Clinical Appointment at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto and is actively engaged in planning and participating in many professional conferences.

She is recognized for her ability to lead, work with, and energize multidisciplinary teams to achieve and sustain positive outcomes that support key strategies across the hospital and health system. Her patient- and family-centred approach exemplifies the mission and values of North York General.
