Peter Lyons

Peter Lyons has more than twenty-five years experience serving as senior counsel for major financial services firms. He has been the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Global Trust Company since its inception in 2009. He has extensive experience in compliance, risk management, contract review, fiduciary and ERISA matters.

Peter is also the Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for the Savings Bank Employee Retirement Association (SBERA), and Northeast Retirement Services, Inc. (NRS), the corporate parent of Global Trust Company.

Prior to coming to Global Trust Company he was General Counsel and Senior Vice President of the Savings Banks Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts. He is a past Executive Committee Member of the Life Insurance Association of Massachusetts (LIAM) and served as Chairman of the LIAM Regulatory Affairs Committee. He has been a Board Member of both the Massachusetts Life and Health Guaranty Association and the Rhode Island Life and Health Guaranty Association.

Peter was selected as one the of the Top 15 General Counsels in the US by “House Counsel Magazine” in 2001. He is an honors graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School (J.D.).
