De Smit Angela has extensive experience in healthcare leadership, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Northern Health - BC since January 2009, where responsibilities include the oversight of operations within the Northeast Health Service Delivery Area, ensuring the delivery of quality care in alignment with strategic goals. Previously, De Smit served as a Health Services Administrator, managing the planning and delivery of acute care programs for the North Peace region, and worked as the Director of Care from 2000 to 2008, providing operational oversight for services at Fort St. John Hospital. De Smit holds a Master of Arts in Leadership with a specialization in Healthcare from Royal Roads University, attained between 2013 and 2015.
