Charles Naff-Rhymer

UGV Chief Engineer & Mechanical Lead at Northrop Grumman Collaboration Project

Charles Naff-Rhymer is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and robotics. Currently serving as UGV Chief Engineer & Mechanical Lead at Northrop Grumman since July 2021, Charles has designed and tested mechanical and electromechanical systems for unmanned ground vehicles, managing teams and overseeing the entire development process from concept to assembly. Charles also holds roles as a Mechanics of Materials Student Instructor at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and has contributed as a Spacecraft Mechatronics Engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where assembly validation tests were performed for Mars Sample Return missions. Prior experience includes work as a Hybrid Electric Propulsion Mechanical Engineer at NASA Glenn Research Center. Charles is pursuing a dual master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management at the University of Southern California, building on a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.
