Jim Carlson

Jim Carlson, Ed.D., currently serves as Chancellor at Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC), a position held since December 2014, with prior roles including Vice Chancellor of Strategic Initiatives and External Affairs, Associate Provost of Academics, Dean of the Lacombe STEM Campus, and Dean of Academics. Additionally, Jim held the title of Interim Chancellor at River Parishes Community College from October 2020 to May 2022. Jim's earlier experience includes serving as Chapter Development Director for The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and as an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at Baton Rouge Community College, along with an instructional role at Jones County Junior College. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University, a Master of Science in Speech Communication and Rhetoric, and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and Rhetoric from The University of Southern Mississippi.
