Joe Howard

Joe Howard is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in technology development and deployment, particularly in the battery manufacturing sector. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at Northvolt since November 2020, Joe leads a team of over 20 individuals, focusing on delivering innovative manufacturing processes and establishing technical road maps. Previous roles at Northvolt include Senior Manager in Equipment Engineering and Lead Equipment Engineer, where Joe developed equipment solutions for both prototyping and serial production applications. Prior to Northvolt, Joe gained valuable experience at Dyson, advancing from Engineering Manager to Senior Engineer and participating actively in high-volume energy storage technology development. Joe's career began at Laser Quantum Ltd., advancing through roles concentrated on continuous improvement and technical support. Academic credentials include a First Class BSc (Hons) in Physics from Loughborough University, along with several Lean Six Sigma certifications.
