As senior vice president and general counsel, Mark Gloade oversees the day-to-day operations of Northwell Health’s Department of Legal Affairs. In this role, he provides general counsel and advice regarding legal aspects of activities, contracts, policies, procedures, plans and objectives.
Since 2000, Mr. Gloade has represented Northwell on labor and employment issues, including arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges and discrimination claims. Prior to becoming general counsel, he served as vice president, where he led the department’s Employment and Labor Group.
For many years, he has represented Northwell’s hospitals in labor negotiations with organizations such as the New York State Nurses’ Association and 1199SEIU, United Healthcare Workers East. And he also represented Northwell hospitals in the US District and New York State courts and in matters before the US and New York Departments of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Before joining Northwell, Mr. Gloade was an associate at Marshall & McEvoy, representing hospitals and financial companies in employment and labor matters. Immediately before Marshall & McEvoy, he was an associate with Paul Hastings’ New York office in its Employment Law department. Mr. Gloade began his legal career in the New York office of Epstein Becker & Green.
