Asghar Esufali

Asghar Esufali has worked in various finance and accounting roles throughout their career. Asghar began their career as an Analyst at Lanka Asia Management Systems Company in 1990. From 1995 to 1997, they served as a Night Audit Supervisor at the Marriott Hotel-Downtown Toronto. Asghar then worked as an Accounting Supervisor at Oxford Properties Group from 1998 to 2001, where they were responsible for property accounting and financial reporting for commercial properties. From 2001 to 2007, they worked at Dundee REIT as a Manager of Property Accounting, overseeing the accounting and analysis of a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties.

In 2007, Asghar joined GE Canada Real Estate as a Controller in various capacities, including Finance Manager-Controller Equity Portfolio, Operations Controller, and Controller Property Accounting. During their time at GE Canada Real Estate, they managed full cycle property accounting, lease administration accounting, and accounts payable. Asghar also administered annual property budgeting processes, supported departmental reporting needs, and led finance transition teams. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as the Director of Accounting at EPIC Realty Partners Inc., where they oversaw full cycle property accounting for commercial and industrial properties. Asghar led the annual property budgeting process and served as the Yardi System Lead. Asghar also executed wire transfers for owner distributions.

Since 2016, Asghar has been working at NorthWest Healthcare Properties REIT as the Vice President and Property Controller. In this role, they assist the CFO in ensuring accurate and reliable operational and management reporting for the company's global property portfolio. Asghar leads the development of consolidated management reporting for property operations and plays a key role in implementing and enhancing the company's ERP system.

Throughout their career, Asghar has demonstrated expertise in property accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, system administration, and financial analysis.

Asghar Esufali completed their Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree in Accounting from Karachi University from 1978 to 1980. Asghar then pursued further education at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) from 1984 to 1993, where they obtained the ACMA (Associate Chartered Management Accountant) degree specializing in Management Accounting. Additionally, Asghar has acquired additional certifications, including "Navigating Environmental Sustainability: A Guide for Leaders" and "The Employee's Guide to Sustainability" from LinkedIn, obtained in May 2022. Asghar is also in the process of obtaining the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification from CIMA, although the specific month and year of completion are not provided.
