Avisek Deyati

Lead Scientist, Data Science at Notch Therapeutics

Avisek Deyati, PhD has extensive work experience in bioinformatics and data analysis. Avisek is currently working as the Lead Bioinformatics Scientist at Notch Therapeutics, where they focus on implementing genomic data science to optimize the process of generating allogenic CART cells for cancer therapy. Avisek also supports target discovery efforts at the company. Prior to this, they worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a Principal Investigator in Bioinformatics, where they implemented data analytics for data-driven decision making in the field of bio-pharmaceuticals. Their role involved various skills such as biostatistics, statistical modeling, and multi-omics integration, among others. Before that, Avisek was employed at GSK, where they worked as a Scientist specializing in multi-omics data integration and longitudinal data analysis. Avisek was involved in the Malaria Vaccine Project in collaboration with GSK, Gates Foundation, Seattle, and the Center for Infectious Disease Research. Avisek also worked as a Bioinformatics Consultant for GSK, where they developed NGS pipelines and designed a novel machine learning approach for genome identification. Avisek also gained research experience as a PhD Research Fellow at Merck Serono, where they focused on transcriptional data integration and pathway enrichment. Finally, they started their career at Syntekabio, where they worked as a Bioinformatician and later became the Team Leader of Database Management. Overall, Avisek Deyati has a strong background in bioinformatics and has contributed to various projects in the biopharmaceutical and vaccine development fields.

Avisek Deyati, PhD, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biostatistics from The University of Bonn. Avisek also has an MSc in Bioinformatics from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Biotechnology from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained several certifications, including the Applied Data Science Program from MIT Professional Education and various courses from institutions such as EMBL, Merck Serono, Fraunhofer SCAI, and B-IT. Additionally, they participated in the Merck Serono Innovation cup in 2011.
