Cathryn Curia

Cathryn Curia serves as the Vice-Chair and a member of the Board of Trustees at Notre Dame of Maryland University since July 2020. With extensive experience in the reinsurance industry, Curia retired as Managing Director of North American Treaty Reinsurance at Markel Global Reinsurance after nearly 11 years. Previous roles include Executive Vice-President at Platinum Underwriters Re and St Paul Re, where Curia managed substantial property treaty businesses with projected volumes exceeding $150,000,000. Curia's career began at Atlantic Mutual Companies, culminating in the role of Secretary-Reinsurance, overseeing comprehensive reinsurance programs. Educational credentials include a BA in Economics from Notre Dame of Maryland University and professional designations from The College of Insurance and the Insurance Institute of America.
