David Hennigan

David Hennigan is a seasoned professional in research, media, and local governance, currently serving as the Senior Research and Media Officer for Nottinghamshire County Council since August 2017, where responsibility includes leading research and strategy for the Independent Group. Additionally, David has been an Independent Member and Executive Lead Member for Corporate Communications and Environmental Improvements at Ashfield District Council since May 2019. Prior to these roles, David spent over 18 years with the Liberal Democrats, undertaking various positions including Campaigns Organiser and Press Advisor, significantly contributing to notable campaigns such as ending child detention at Yarl's Wood and advancing public transport initiatives in Greater Manchester. David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a Professional PR Diploma in Public Relations.
