Carla Perdun Barrett

Carla Perdun Barrett has extensive work experience in risk management and pharmaceutical industries. Carla Perdun is currently serving as the Vice President of Global Risk Management Global Vaccine Safety at Novavax Inc. Prior to this role, they held positions as the Executive Director of Global Risk Management Global Vaccine Safety and Senior Director of Risk Management at the same company.

Before joining Novavax Inc, Carla was a Senior Director of Risk Management at PRA Health Sciences from 2018 to 2021. Carla Perdun also worked at Allergan as an Executive Director of Global Risk Management in 2016 and operated their own consulting firm, Carla Barrett Consulting, LLC, specializing in risk management sciences from 2014 to 2016.

Carla's career began in the pharmaceutical industry with roles at Pfizer, where they served as a Senior Director & Head of Risk Management Center of Excellence, Senior Director & Head of Safety Sciences Research & Communication, and Senior Director of Risk Management. Carla Perdun was also a Director/Senior Director of Global Medical Affairs at Pfizer. Prior to Pfizer, they worked as a Consultant in Drug Information & Medical Writing for multiple pharmaceutical companies.

Carla's earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Drug Information at St. Vincent Hospital and working as a Pharmacist at the Medical University of South Carolina and St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

Carla Perdun Barrett holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacy from the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. Carla Perdun has also completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency and a Drug Information Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.
