Rikke Johannessen

Rikke Johannessen is an experienced humanitarian professional currently serving as the Director of Humanitarian Programmes at Novo Nordisk Foundation. Rikke holds positions as a Board Member at Askehave Climate Foundation, overseeing humanitarian responses to climate change, and previously at Last Mile Climate. Rikke also operates as an independent consultant, specializing in humanitarian program strategy, policy development, and feasibility studies across East Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. Rikke's prior roles include Head of Unit for Programme Innovation and Private Partnerships at Danish Refugee Council and Senior Programme Advisor for Migration and Displacement at Save the Children International. Rikke’s expertise encompasses forced displacement, migration programming, sustainability, and innovation in the humanitarian sector, having collaborated with organizations such as IOM, UNHCR, and CARE. Rikke's educational background includes studies at the University of Copenhagen.
