Ulla Gro Nielsen

Ulla Gro Nielsen is currently the Scientific Director and Senior Scientific Lead at the Novo Nordisk Foundation, a position held since May 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Professor and Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark from February 2007 to April 2023, focusing on inorganic, materials, and environmental chemistry, as well as solid-state NMR. Ulla Gro Nielsen has also held postdoctoral positions at Stony Brook University and UC Berkeley, specializing in environmental molecular science and solid-state NMR between March 2003 and February 2007. Academic training culminated in a Ph.D. in chemistry and materials science from Aarhus University, where prior studies resulted in an M.Sc. in chemistry and physics.
