Andrea de Pieri

Andrea De Pieri is a Senior Scientist at Novo Nordisk since January 2023, following a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Rochester Institute of Technology from January 2020 to December 2022, where projects focused on in vitro human models of fibrosis and the development of resveratrol-loaded microparticles. Prior experience includes working as a PhD Student at the Regenerative, Modular & Developmental Engineering Laboratory (REMODEL), CÚRAM, SFI Centre from September 2016 to December 2019, creating three-dimensional ECM-rich cell assembled micro tissues, and as an Early Stage Researcher at Aran Biomedical from September 2016 to September 2019, characterizing biophysical properties of medical implants. An internship at the University of Padova in 2015 involved assessing the effects of pulsed electromagnetic fields on diabetic foot ulcer recovery. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Galway (2016-2019), a Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnologies from Università degli Studi di Padova (2013-2015), and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Biotechnologies from the same university (2010-2013).
