Michael Straus

Michael Straus has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Michael began their career in 2001 as a Senior Software Developer at Oracle. Michael then worked at Model N as a Senior Member of Technical Staff II.

In 2006, Michael joined Xythos Software as a Technical Product Manager and later became a Senior Product Manager. Michael continued in these roles after Xythos was acquired by Blackboard, taking ownership of both Xythos and Blackboard Learn products.

In 2008, Michael became a Senior Product Manager at Blackboard, where they successfully turned around the performance of the Content Management module and launched a new product called Blackboard Drive. Michael also led cross-functional product teams and drove promotional programs to increase sales and client retention.

Michael then joined Sparqd, an early-stage startup, as the Lead Senior Product Manager. Michael was responsible for requirements gathering, product strategy, sales engineering, and product marketing. Michael successfully launched a new product line, leading to a shift in the company's business strategy.

In 2012, Michael worked at Blackboard again, this time as a Senior Product Manager for the Xythos division. Michael had full ownership of the Xythos product line and also took on responsibility for some Blackboard Learn products.

Michael co-founded Seascape in 2013, a web/mobile software startup. Michael built and launched an enterprise local analytics and marketing platform before transitioning to a consumer content/social product.

Michael then joined Healthline Networks, Inc. as a Senior Solution Architect & Program Manager. Michael later became the Director of Product Management, responsible for launching the company's new HIT Data Solutions product line.

In 2014, Michael joined Privis Health as the Director of Product Management. Michael also served as the Interim Director of Customer Implementation and was promoted to Executive Vice President. Michael played a key role in developing product strategies, building teams, and leading projects related to data quality and CMS programs.

Since 2017, Michael has been working at NovoEd. Michael started as the Senior Director of Product Management and later became the Vice President of Product Management. In this role, they own all product management responsibilities for NovoEd's web and mobile products, which aim to transition from in-person to online learning in various industries.

Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated strong leadership and expertise in product management, strategy development, business development, and sales. Michael has successfully launched new products, turned around underperforming modules, and built teams from the ground up.

Michael Straus attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. In 2008, they obtained a certification as a Pragmatic Marketing Certified Product Manager from Pragmatic Marketing.
