Nazzy Pakpour currently serves as a Senior Scientist I at Novozymes since January 2022, focusing on the investigation of type 2 diabetes effects on Plasmodium development and transmission in mosquitoes. Prior to this role, Nazzy was an Assistant Professor at California State University, East Bay from July 2015 to January 2022, and a Post Doctoral Scholar at UC Davis from May 2008 to August 2015, where research centered on human blood factors and mosquito immune responses to malaria. Earlier experience includes roles as a Project Scientist and Staff Research Associate at UCSF and UC Davis, with a foundational education comprising a PhD in Microbiology, Virology, and Parasitology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Entomology from the University of California, Davis.
