Alberto Galvis

Alberto Galvis has a diverse work history with experience in web development and IT architecture. Alberto started their career in 2011 as a Drupal Web Developer at the Unidad Administrativa Especial Cuerpo Oficial de Bomberos de Bogotá. Alberto then worked as a Technical Specialist and Backend Developer at Chef® Company from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, they joined BITS Americas S.A.S as a PHP Developer. From 2019 to 2020, Alberto worked as a Web Developer at weKnow Inc. Alberto began working at NovoPayment in 2020, initially as a Senior Web Development Analyst and then transitioning to the role of IT Web Architect Lead in August 2021. In 2023, Alberto briefly worked as a React Developer at Savimbo.

Alberto Galvis attended Universidad Central (CO) from 2003 to 2008, where they obtained a degree in Publicidad with an emphasis in multimedia and web. In 2023, they enrolled at Universidad de Los Andes and is expected to complete their Master's degree in Software Engineering in 2025.

Additionally, Alberto has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2011, they completed a certification in Calidad en el desarrollo del software from Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA). Later, in 2018, they became a certified Scrum Master through Intelligent Training.

In recent years, Alberto has focused on expanding their skills and knowledge in the field of software development. Alberto completed courses such as Web Application & Software Architecture 101 and JavaScript Fundamentals Before Learning React with Educative, Inc. Alberto also completed courses on JavaScript Security Refreshers and A Deep Dive into React Hooks. Alberto further enhanced their skills with certifications in De Monolitos a Microservicios from Lernico and Gestiòn de deuda técnica from LinkedIn.

To improve their English proficiency, Alberto obtained an EFSET English Certificate with a B2 Upper Intermediate level from EF Standard English Test. Alberto also completed an EF Level 1 Beginner CEFR Level A1 course with EF English Live. Alberto's commitment to continuous learning is evident through their completion of the Estilos de Liderazgo: opciones para avanzar en desafíos complejos course on Coursera.
