Head Of Audio Documentaries (enterprise Storytelling Unit)

Irene Noguchi serves as the Head of Audio Documentaries in the Enterprise Storytelling Unit at NPR, overseeing acclaimed narrative programs such as Embedded and Throughline since November 2022. Previously, at The New York Times, Irene held the position of Executive Producer of Opinion Audio, leading a large team and managing popular podcasts, achieving significant growth. Earlier experience includes roles as Head of Audio and Executive Producer at POLITICO, where Irene launched new podcasts, and Executive Producer of “Today, Explained” at Vox.com, which became the most downloaded podcast in its category. Irene began a career in radio at KQED and KNPR Nevada Public Radio, and has a legal background with experience in corporate law from Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth. Irene holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and English from Stanford University.
