Regina G. Barber is a seasoned educator and communicator in the fields of physics and STEM outreach, currently serving as the Scientist in Residence and host/reporter for NPR Short Wave since January 2022. At Western Washington University, Regina holds dual roles as a STEM Inclusion & Outreach Specialist, focusing on programs for underrepresented populations in STEM, and as a Senior Instructor in Physics & Astronomy, teaching a wide range of courses from introductory physics to advanced communication in science. Previously, Regina was the Executive Producer and Host of Spark Science, a multimedia podcast aimed at making science accessible and engaging. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Western Washington University, a Master of Science in Physics from San Diego State University, and a PhD in Physics from Washington State University.
