Nick Conner has extensive experience in environmental economics, currently serving as a Senior Principal Economist at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment since August 1997, following a tenure as Principal Conservation Economist at the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage. Conner is actively engaged with the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic & Social Policy and the Commission on Ecosystem Management since 2000, holding several leadership positions, including Theme Chair for the Local Economies, Communities & Nature Specialist Group and co-chair of the Ecosystem Services Thematic Group. Additionally, various roles as an Environmental Economics Advisor and Consultant have been undertaken with international NGOs, research groups, and environmental agencies since 2000. Conner holds a Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics from University College of Wales and a Bachelor’s Degree in Rural Environment Studies from Wye College, University of London.
