Ryoma Ishii is currently a Scientist at NTT RESEARCH since June 2022 and a Visiting Scientist at Harvard University since December 2019, focusing on developing a brain disease model of the Blood-Brain-Barrier (BBB) using a microfluidic chip. Previously, Ryoma worked as a Bioengineering Researcher and Chemist at Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. from April 2016 to December 2019, where responsibilities included managing iPS cell culturing and synthesizing novel polymer scaffolds for mass production of iPS cells. Additionally, Ryoma designed and fabricated a microfluidic chip for influenza diagnosis and optimized RT-PCR processes. A Visiting Scientist at Kyoto University in 2018, Ryoma gained iPS cell culture skills to support company projects. Ryoma holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, both from The University of Tokyo.
