Waleed Khamies

Waleed Khamies serves as an Applied Research Scientist at NTWIST since May 2024, focusing on AI-powered scheduling systems and automation solutions for the manufacturing sector. Concurrently, Waleed works as an AI consultant at WesTower Communications Ltd. Previously, Waleed was an Applied Data Scientist specializing in machine learning at UpTech, with expertise in SQL, PyTorch, Kubeflow, and Vertex AI. Waleed's background includes a role as an ML Research Engineer at Mila, where deep learning algorithms were developed and research published in prominent conferences. Earlier experiences include positions at Brown University as an ML Research Associate, as well as software development roles at Echonine and Zamphyr. Waleed has advanced academic qualifications, holding an MSc in Mathematical Sciences with a focus on Machine Intelligence from the University of Alberta, and a BSc in Software Engineering from the University of Khartoum.
