Clinical Scientist at NuCana

Fiona Mckissock has a diverse work experience. Fiona began their career in 2012 as a Support Assistant at Cornerstone Community Care, where they supported adults with additional support needs. In 2014, they worked as a Nursing Assistant at NHS Grampian, where they provided personal care and recorded basic patient observations. Fiona also worked as a Clinical Researcher at NHS, conducting clinical audit of heart rhythm recorders. From 2016 to 2019, they held various roles at the University of St Andrews, including PhD Researcher, Assistant Warden, and Wellbeing Adviser. Most recently, they have been working as a Clinical Scientist and Scientific Associate at NuCana plc since 2019. In 2022, they also began working as a Level 1 Triathlon Coach at East Fife Triathlon Club.

Fiona Mckissock attended Gordonstoun School from 2003 to 2005, where they obtained their GCSEs. Fiona then went on to the University of Aberdeen, where they received a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences, physiology from 2011 to 2015. Finally, they completed their PhD in Medicine at the University of St Andrews from 2016 to 2019.
