Gil Azaria

VP of Operations at Nucleus Security

Gil Azaria has been working in the information security industry since 2012. In that time, they have held a variety of roles in different companies. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Melbourne, and a Freelance Web Developer from 2014 to 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Board Director & Chief Operating Officer at Hackers Helping Hackers, a not-for-profit company. At Australia Post from 2018 to 2020, they held the roles of Manager, Digital Security Assurance, Product Owner, Foundational Application Security Project, Application Security Specialist, and Tech Lead, Foundational Application Security Project. Currently, they are the VP of Operations and Director, APAC Operations at Nucleus Security.

Gil Azaria obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Melbourne between 2010 and 2013. In 2016, they obtained an Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification from Offensive Security. In 2020, they obtained a Finance for Non-Finance Managers certification from the Australian Institute of Management and a Contract Management certification from the same institution. Gil is also currently in the process of obtaining a Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level N3 certification from The Japan Foundation, which is expected to be completed in December 2022. Additionally, they hold a CREST Registered Penetration Tester certification.
