Like many successful public relations practitioners, Tom has deep roots in journalism, previously serving as the business editor of the San Diego Tribune and a correspondent for The Wall Street Journal and other business, travel and regional magazines. He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting.
Tom eventually made the switch to public relations and founded Gable PR, which merged with NST in April 2015. With more than 40 years of experience in the industry, Tom has represented a range of clients throughout the U.S., from startups and new ventures to Fortune 100 companies. Tom currently provides strategic counsel to companies, organizations and institutions with complex branding, reputation management, marketing communications and media relations needs. He also advises clients from throughout the U.S. on crisis public relations and long-term issues management programs.
His public relations work has earned him numerous accolades, including four Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvils, the highest award in the industry, and lifetime achievement awards in public relations from the San Diego Chapter of PRSA and the San Diego Press Club.
