Abby Flanders

Abby Flanders has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Abby is currently working as an Office Manager at number8 since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Educator at the Kentucky Science Center from April 2021 to April 2022. From August 2020 to August 2021, Abby served as a Shift Supervisor & Head Cashier at Feeders Supply Company. Abby also worked as a Writer & Content Manager at Open IRIS from June 2020 to June 2021.

Abby's earlier experiences include working as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Missouri-Columbia from January 2019 to May 2020. Abby held the role of Director of Membership & Education with the Campus Activities Programming Board (CAPB) from May 2018 to January 2020, where they worked on training materials, coordinated events, and managed communication. Additionally, they worked as Event Staff for the Campus Activities Programming Board from September 2016 to January 2020, contributing to event set up and teardown and serving on various committees.

Abby also has experience as a Science Writer/Editor at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research in July 2018. Overall, Abby's work experience showcases their skills in management, education, writing, and event coordination.

Abby Flanders pursued their education chronologically as follows: Abby completed their Master of Arts (MA) degree in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where they studied from 2016 to 2020. Abby had also successfully achieved their High School Diploma from Greenwood Laboratory School from 2012 to 2016, specializing in Public Affairs Diploma with an Endorsement in Natural & Applied Sciences.
