Jose Santos

Senior Director, DEL & Protein Sciences Group Leader at Nurix

Jose Santos has significant experience in protein sciences and drug discovery. Jose has held various leadership positions at Nurix Therapeutics, starting as a Senior Scientist in the Protein Sciences Group and progressing to Associate Director and then Director of the group. In their most recent role as Senior Director, they lead a team of scientists focused on the development and innovation of Nurix's targeted protein degradation platforms.

Prior to Nurix Therapeutics, Jose worked at Dart NeuroScience LLC as a Scientist II, where they led a structural biology project focused on a GPCR target. During their time there, they contributed to the development of biophysical methods and identified a new therapeutic target.

Before that, Jose held positions at UC San Diego and the University of Chicago - Institute for Molecular Pediatric Sciences, where they conducted research on ion channel function and structure. Jose has also had experience as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, studying voltage-gated ion channels.
