Ben Jafek

Ben Jafek currently serves as a Senior Perception Engineer at Nuro since February 2024. Previously, Ben held the position of Senior Perception Engineer at ISEE from October 2019 to January 2024, focusing on real-time 3D detection and tracking of objects in trailer yards. Initial roles included Perception Engineer at Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation, where design and implementation of visual detection pipelines took place, and earlier positions at BYU Vision as a Research Assistant and at BYU Publications and Graphics as a Data Scientist. Ben started in the field as a Computer Vision Intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, contributing to face detection algorithm tools and co-authoring a publication at SPIE. Ben holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from Brigham Young University.
