John D. Boyle

John D. Boyle is a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in automotive engineering and hardware integration. Currently serving as a Mechanical Engineer and Package Manager at Nuro since September 2019, John manages a team focused on the development of next-generation autonomous vehicle sense hardware and its integration into partner vehicles. Prior to this, John held various engineering management roles at NIO, overseeing projects related to automotive interior technologies, and spent over two decades at Ford Motor Company in different capacities, including Design Engineering Supervisor and Manufacturing Engineer, where responsibilities involved leading teams and managing design processes for multiple vehicle programs. Earlier career experiences include engineering positions at IBM, Casso-Solar Technologies, Navtec, and Newport News Shipbuilding. John D. Boyle earned a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics/Engineering from Bates College.
