James McManus

James McManus is currently the Chief Investment Officer at Nutmeg. James has previous experience working as an Associate Director, Fund Products at Coutts & Co, as well as an Associate at CreditSights and an Investment Analyst at Citi Family Office Group.

James has over 8 years of experience working in the finance industry. James began their career as an Investment Analyst at Citi Family Office Group before moving on to CreditSights where they worked as an Associate. In 2012, James joined Coutts & Co as their Associate Director, Fund Products. In this role, they were responsible for the research, selection and performance of long only active and passive strategies, circa £16bn assets. After three years at Coutts & Co, James left to join Nutmeg as their Chief Investment Officer in February 2015.

At Nutmeg, James is responsible for managing the investment process and portfolios for all of Nutmeg’s clients. James oversees a team of ten investment professionals and works with Nutmeg’s CIO to ensure that the company’s investment strategies are aligned with its clients’ goals.

James McManus has a BA Hons in International Business, French & Spanish from Nottingham Business School. James also has certification from the CFA Institute in CFA Certificate in ESG Investing and IMC.

They work with Neil Ridley - Operations Director, Brad Holland - Director of investment strategy, and Chris Littler - Finance Director. Their manager is Neil Alexander, CEO.
