Adolescent And Women’s Health And Nutrition (awhn) Pakistan Focal Person- Wifas Program Team Lead at Nutrition International

Dr. Rakhshinda Ambreen has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations and roles. Dr. Rakhshinda is currently working at Nutrition International as the Adolescent and Women's Health and Nutrition (AWHN) Pakistan Focal Person and is responsible for the operational and technical support of the organization's health and nutrition programs in Pakistan. Prior to this, they volunteered as the EvalYouth Engagement Task force Lead at EvalYouth Pakistan.

Dr. Ambreen also served as the Deputy Project Head of the Healthcare in Danger Initiative in Pakistan at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where they identified and prioritized HCiD needs and developed initiatives related to healthcare. Dr. Rakhshinda had a brief tenure at Ubuntu Leaders Academy as a Pakistan Delegate.

Thereafter, they worked as the COVID-19 Response Project Monitoring Manager at CARE, where they focused on strengthening the government sector health system and providing emergency response during the pandemic.

Dr. Rakhshinda also served as a Program Manager for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research at HANDS Pakistan and played a key role in the Unicef communication for development (C4D) project.

Dr. Ambreen had an experience working with UNICEF on scaling up nutrition and WASH response for drought-affected people in Tharparkar, Dhali.

Additionally, they worked as a Clinical Research Associate at The Indus Hospital, where they reviewed clinical studies, mentored residents, and conducted clinical research studies.

Dr. Rakhshinda also contributed to Interactive Research and Development as an IRB Member and Reviewer, as well as an Interim IRB Coordinator.

Lastly, Dr. Ambreen worked as a Lecturer in Community Health Sciences at JINNAH MEDICAL & DENTAL COLLEGE, where they supervised research projects and taught subjects such as epidemiology and biostatistics.

Dr. Rakhshinda Ambreen has a diverse education history. In 2010, they received their Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in Advanced/Graduate Dentistry from Baqai Medical University. In 2013, they earned a certification in Clinical Research from Dow University of Health Sciences.

Throughout their career, Dr. Ambreen has pursued further education and certifications. In 2017, they completed their Master of Science in Public Health with a focus on Health Management and Leadership from Jinnah Sindh Medical University. In 2019, they obtained a certificate in Sample Size Determination for Quantitative Research from Aga Khan University.

Dr. Ambreen has also completed various elective courses in their field. These include courses in Qualitative Research and Medical Education, among others. Dr. Rakhshinda has enrolled in multiple electives as part of their Master of Science in Public Health degree program.

Furthermore, Dr. Ambreen has acquired additional certifications to enhance their skills. These certifications include training in Results Based Management for Monitoring and Evaluation, Adolescent Nutrition and Anemia, Effective Presentation Techniques, and Working at ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross), among others.
