Ewout van der Es

Ewout van der Es has diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Ewout currently works as an Applications Engineering at NX Filtration starting in 2022.

Prior to that, they worked at Hatenboer-Water for 8 years, from 2014 to 2022, and held multiple roles. Ewout was responsible for operations and project leadership in East Africa, specifically in Kenya. Ewout managed containerized SWRO units and focused on training the local staff in desalination processes and troubleshooting. Ewout also served as a project leader in Kenya, overseeing the commissioning and optimization of a pre-filtration unit for desalination RO units. Additionally, they led product development and innovation projects, collaborating with various stakeholders to develop new water treatment solutions and improve existing products.

Before joining Hatenboer-Water, Ewout worked as a Specialist Water Analysis (Sales Engineer) at HACH LANGE Nederland from 2011 to 2014. In this role, they were responsible for sales and customer support in the South West of The Netherlands, specializing in process/online/inline equipment for water analysis.

Ewout also has experience working as an R&D Chemist and QA Executive at Rahu Catalytics Limited from 2007 to 2011. During this time, they contributed to wastewater treatment projects utilizing hydrogen peroxide and a patented catalyst. Ewout also had responsibilities in maintenance, quality control, and inventory control.

Ewout started their career as an Undergraduate Student at DuPont in 2006, researching coagulants and flocculants for wastewater treatment. Ewout then had an internship at Thermo Fisher Scientific, further expanding their knowledge in the field.

Overall, Ewout's work experience spans various roles and responsibilities in the water treatment industry, with a focus on operations, project management, product development, and sales.

Ewout van der Es completed their education starting from 1997 to 2002 at csg De Lage Waard, where they did not obtain any degree or field of study information. Later, from 2002 to 2007, they attended Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Analytical Chemistry.

In addition to their formal education, Ewout has obtained several certifications. In September 2013, they received a certificate in Introduction to Water Treatment from edX. In August 2015, they obtained three certificates from edX, including English Grammar and Style, Innovation Generation: How to Be Creative, and The Biology of Water and Health - Part 1. Furthermore, in March 2016, they earned a certification in European Desalination Society: Membrane Technology, Process and System Design. In April 2018, they obtained a certification in Nanofiltration and Reverse Osmosis in Water Treatment from Technische Universiteit Delft. Lastly, in November and December 2021, they completed certifications in Effective Decision Making: Dealing with business Complexity and Dealing with Power and Dynamics: Discover Your Leadership Style and Influence Stakeholders from edX, respectively. Ewout's latest certification was the Accelerated Management Program, which they received from Yale School of Management in June 2022.
