Mostafa Bagheri

Chief Technology Officer at NXT Robotics

Mostafa Bagheri has been working in the engineering field since 2010. Mostafa has held various roles such as Teaching Assistant, Graduate Research Assistant, and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic. In 2014, they were a Graduate Researcher at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, working on the \"Whole-body Adaptive Locomotion and Manipulation\" project. From 2015 to 2019, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Instructor at San Diego State University and UC San Diego, respectively. In 2019, they became a Robotics Consultant at Glidewell Dental, where they trained staff to use ROS and its various tools, developed packages and custom robot descriptions, and developed a simulation and actual test bed for evaluating generic grasping applications. That same year, they also became Chief Technology Officer at NXT Robotics, where they supported roadmap planning and built an engineering team, developed mechanical, electrical, and software systems for Rovers, and developed a sophisticated autonomous navigation algorithm. In 2021, they became a Roboticist at Vicarious, and in 2022, they will begin working as a Senior Robotics and Controls Engineer at Johnson & Johnson.

Mostafa Bagheri began their educational journey in 2006 when they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic. Mostafa went on to earn a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2010. In 2015, Mostafa began a joint program between UC San Diego and SDSU to earn a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering - Robotics, which they completed in 2019. Mostafa also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic.
