André Corvelo is an accomplished bioinformatics professional with extensive experience in the field. Since January 2014, André has held multiple positions at the New York Genome Center, progressing from Bioinformatics Scientist to Senior Bioinformatics Scientist, ultimately becoming the Lead Bioinformatics Scientist. Prior to this role, André served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centro Nacional de Analisis Genomico from 2010 to 2013 and completed a PhD Research Student tenure at Universitat Pompeu Fabra from 2005 to 2010. Early career experience includes an undergraduate position at IBMC.INEB Associate Laboratory in 2004. André holds a Ph.D. in Basic and Applied Biology from ICBAS-Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, a graduate degree in Basic and Applied Biology from Universidade do Porto, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Évora.
