Jade Carter has a diverse work experience in the field of genomic sequencing and bioinformatics. Jade started their career at The Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics, where they held roles as a Staff Scientist and Bioinformatics Scientist, specializing in next-generation sequencing (NGS). Jade also took on the role of Interim Genome Sequencing Unit Leader during their time there.
Later, Jade joined Roche Pharmaceuticals and served as a Lab Head for the Next-Generation Sequencing department, where they managed a team and provided scientific and technical guidance for biomarker research. Jade also implemented NGS workflows and collaborated with bioinformatics colleagues for data analysis and pipeline implementation.
Currently, Jade is working at the New York Genome Center, where they have held several positions. Jade started as a Sequencing and Bioinformatics Scientist and progressed to managerial roles, including Senior Manager and Manager in Sequencing Analytics. Their most recent position is as the Associate Director of Technology Development, and they will soon take on the role of Director.
Jade Carter obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics from the same institute, completing their studies from 2004 to 2007.
