Job description

Due to our international growth we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to give direct support to and to oversee 3rd Party Contract Manufacturers (CM) venders for low volume pilot cell production and scale up to launch of high-volume cell production. In this new role you will help ensure vendor(s) meet production quality, traceability, schedule, and product delivery requirements.

Using your knowledge and experience you will be able to provide direct technical support, and communications to 3rd Party CM(s) in implementation of design changes, process improvements, corrective actions, and/or process changes.

This is your chance to become our Operations Team’s primary technical liaison with our 3rd party cell CM(s), providing regular status updates to Nyobolt senior management on manufacturing programs in terms of yields, schedules, key challenges, and initiatives.

Responsibilities will include supporting new equipment suppliers, contract manufacturers reviews, recommendations, and selection, in conjunction with the Operations and Design teams.

You will utilize your knowledge of DFM/DFA to support product design reviews, equipment selection and procurement.

Please note: Travelling in China between different CM(s) is required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a manufacturing in a medium to high volume production environment, ideally experienced with Li-ion battery cells or similar products.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to combine statistical data with theory and empirical observation to reach successful conclusions and appropriate actions.
  • A self-motivated, persistent, hands-on, and results-oriented team player.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
