Alissa Riffel is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in financial reporting and analysis. Currently serving as Assistant Controller at The New York Times since September 2017, Alissa has previously held the title of Director of Financial Reporting at Apollo Global Management LLC from June 2011 to September 2023. Alissa began a career in finance at Citigroup, working from March 2002 to June 2011 as Vice President of Corporate Reporting and Analysis, where responsibilities included preparing SEC filings and ensuring compliance with SOX requirements. Early in the career, Alissa gained experience at Deloitte & Touche LLP as Supervising Senior Accountant and at Ernst and Young, LLP as an intern. Alissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Michigan State University Eli Broad College of Business, obtained in 1998.
