Crystal Chien currently serves as the VP of Engineering at The New York Times, a position held since August 2019, and also functions as the Executive Director of Engineering for Subscription Growth. Previously, Crystal Chien was the VP of Engineering at Convene from March 2018 to January 2019, where responsibilities included building the first engineering team and delivering initial software products, including mobile applications and a web-based portal. Crystal Chien started at Centrify as the Director of Engineering, where contributions included managing an effective offshore team and driving engineering projects to successful completion. Crystal Chien holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo.
