Kirsten Akens

Kirsten Akens is an experienced copy editor and freelance writer with a background in journalism and publishing. Notable roles include serving as the Bulletin Alumni Magazine Production Editor at Colorado College and holding positions as Associate Editor and Copy Editor/Staff Writer at Colorado Springs Independent. Kirsten is also the author of "100 Things to Do in Colorado Springs Before You Die," published by Reedy Press in 2019. Kirsten Akens holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Colorado College and is a certified yoga instructor, having completed a 230-hour teacher training program through RootEd Apprenticeship and Teacher Training.
