Zia Ur Rehman is a seasoned journalist and analyst with extensive experience in covering political, security, and social issues in Pakistan. Currently serving as a Contributing Reporter at The New York Times since January 2011, Zia has also worked with The News International as a Reporter from March 2015 to July 2022, focusing on political parties and social movements. Zia has contributed analytical reports on militancy for the Jamestown Foundation and written on human rights and conflict for notable publications like The Friday Times and CTC Sentinel. Zia’s earlier roles include lead subject matter expert at Management Systems International and project coordinator at Labour Education Foundation. Zia holds a Fellowship in Journalism from the University of Westminster and master's and bachelor's degrees in Mass Communication and Gender Studies, and Statistics and Economics from Karachi University.
