David Alonso serves as Vice President and Chief of Staff for Capital Projects and Facilities at New York University since August 1999, with extensive experience in facilities and construction management. Leading a team responsible for over 180 buildings and 15 million square feet of real estate in New York City, David has held multiple leadership roles including Associate Vice President overseeing the Office of Construction Management and sustainability initiatives, and Senior Facilities Engineer managing HVAC and building automation systems. Prior to NYU, David worked at Honeywell Building Controls and Electronic Technologies Corporation as a Senior Project Manager, focusing on building automation and energy management systems, and began a career at Raytheon as an Engineer specializing in electronic countermeasures. David holds an Advanced (Graduate) Certificate in Construction Management from New York University, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the New York Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Wagner College.
