Dr. Sherif Zaher

Sports and Performance Enhancement Program Director at O7 Therapy

Dr. Sherif Zaher has extensive work experience in the mental health and sports fields. In 1998, they began their career as a Men's Tennis player at the University of Georgia. In 2010, they became a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist at TURNING POINT COMMUNITY PROGRAMS, where they were responsible for client case management, creating and leading group sessions, and arranging alcohol and/or drugs services for clients. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Pre/Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Davis Medical Center, where they demonstrated proficiency in utilizing different evidence-based treatment modalities, was responsible for complete client case management, and had knowledge of community resources. From 2014 to 2020, they worked as a Sport Psychology Consultant at Sacramento Republic FC, where they assessed athletes' psychological skills, assisted coaches in maximizing their athletes' potential, and developed individualized psychological skills training program for each athlete. In 2020, they founded and became the CEO and Clinical Director of the Wellness Initiative Foundation, where they are on a mission to offer children across the nation with a new and healthy lifestyle at no-cost. Finally, in 2022, they will begin working as the Sports and Performance Enhancement Program Director at O7 Therapy.

Dr. Sherif Zaher obtained their PsyD in Psychology from Cal Southern University between 2010 and 2013. Dr. Sherif then obtained their M.S in Sport Psychology from California State University-Sacramento between 2003 and 2005. Lastly, they obtained their B.A in Psychology 2002 from California State University-Sacramento between 1999 and 2003.
