Rob Oakland has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Rob is currently serving as the Commercial Director at The Oakland Group, a position they have held since January 2019. Prior to this, Rob was a Partner at The Oakland Group from September 2008 to January 2019.

Afterward, they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering with Business & Management at Alliance Manchester Business School, which they completed from 1996 to 2000. Following this, Rob pursued higher education at the University of Leeds from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Engineering.
In addition to their formal education, Rob Oakland also obtained certifications in their professional career. In January 2016, they became a Chartered Member of the CQI by The Chartered Quality Institute. Furthermore, they completed a course in "Managing Successful Programmes" at Cambridge Judge Business School, although the specific timeframe for this is not provided.
