Jesse Nachem

Jesse Nachem is an experienced library professional currently serving as the Children’s Collection Management Librarian at Oakland Public Library since October 2011, with prior roles including Children's Librarian and Manager of the Children's Room. Jesse has also contributed to the Alameda County Library as a Children's Librarian from 2014 to 2017. Active in the American Library Association from 2009 to 2016, Jesse participated in the GLBT Round Table and the ALCTS committees, holding various positions such as committee member and acting book review editor. Additional library experience includes roles as a Librarian at The Wright Institute, Records Specialist at the University of California, and Assistant Archivist at Lucasfilm, Inc. Jesse holds a Graduate degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons University and a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and Media/Cultural Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
