Kleio Douka

Kleio Douka has worked in compliance for over six years, with experience in both the private and public sectors. Kleio is currently the Compliance Manager at Oakley Capital, a private equity firm based in London. Previously, they were the Compliance Manager-AIFM at Intertrust Group, a global provider of trust, corporate and fund services. Prior to that, Kleio worked as a Senior Compliance Analyst at Aztec Group, a Jersey-based financial services company.

Kleio began their career as a Trainee in the Legal Service of the Council of the European Union, where they were responsible for research on EU law issues, drafting memos and opinions, and participating in briefings and working groups with EU member state delegations. Kleio then went on to work as an Organisation Assistant for the EU-Korea Brussels Policy Forum, before returning to law as an Attorney at Konstantinos A. Koltsis in Athens, Greece.

In 2011, Kleio moved to Manchester, UK to complete their LLM in International Commercial Law at the University of Manchester. While studying, they volunteered as a Legal Advisor at the Legal Advice Centre Manchester. Upon graduating, Kleio was admitted as a Solicitor of England & Wales and began their compliance career.

Kleio is a bilingual (Greek & English) attorney with over six years’ experience in compliance. Kleio holds an LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Manchester and is a Solicitor of England & Wales.

Kleio Douka holds a Bachelor in law from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). Kleio also has a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business and Commercial Law from The University of Manchester. Kleio has taken an overview course in Luxembourg Company Law at the Luxembourg Lifelong Learning Center. Additionally, they have studied International Human Rights at Universite de louvain.
